Yoga for Back Pain & Slip Disc

Yoga for Back Pain & Slip Disc at The Yoga Roots, Whitefield

Back and neck pain are among the most common reasons people come to The Yoga Roots. Long hours at a desk, commuting and screen time take a toll, especially in a busy work hub like Whitefield. Our therapeutic yoga personal sessions in Nagondanahalli help you move with less pain, rebuild strength and protect your back for the long term.

Conditions we work with

  • Lower back pain and stiffness
  • Slip disc
  • Neck pain and spondylitis
  • Shoulder pain
  • Sciatica
  • Knee pain

How yoga can support you

  • Mobility: gentle, controlled movement eases stiffness in the spine, hips and shoulders.
  • Core and back strength: stronger supporting muscles take load off the spine.
  • Posture: we work on how you sit, stand and move, including at your desk.
  • Calmer response to pain: breathing and relaxation help manage the stress and tension that often come with ongoing pain.

What your sessions include

  • Gentle mobility work for the spine, hips and shoulders.
  • Strengthening for the core, back and glutes, built up gradually.
  • Targeted stretches for tight hamstrings, hips and chest.
  • Posture guidance you can use through the day.
  • Breathing and relaxation to release tension.

Postures that could strain your condition, such as deep forward bends with a disc problem, are adapted or avoided.

How we plan your sessions

  1. Consultation: we talk about where you feel pain, how long you have had it and what makes it better or worse. Please bring any scans or advice from your doctor or physiotherapist.
  2. Personal plan: your yoga therapist builds a safe sequence for your condition.
  3. Guided one-to-one practice: every movement is taught and corrected so you do it safely.
  4. Review and progress: as pain eases and strength builds, your plan progresses, and you can later move on to our group classes.

When to see a doctor first

If you have severe or worsening pain, numbness or weakness in your legs, or any loss of bladder or bowel control, see a doctor straight away before starting any exercise.
